Victorian duo Glenn McIntyre and navigator Bradley Harvey #43 have finalised preparations for a maiden appearance at this weekend’s ARB Town and Country Tyres Stackpoole 400, round 1 of the 2018 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship.

Relative newcomers to off road racing, McIntyre purchased a buggy built by former campaigner Peter Munday in November 2016 after many years of racing a Mud Bash Buggy with the Rover Scouts.

McIntyre unleashed his Class 1 machine, powered by a twin turbo Nissan VQ30 for the first time at Avalon early on last season, before taking on the well renowned Sea Lake Mallee Rally, round 3 of the ARB Series. Over the June long weekend in the team’s first real crack at an endurance event, McIntyre and Harvey brought home the #43 in 26th position; a great confidence booster heading into the Rainbow Enduro in August.

The inaugural Rainbow event, which ran as the AORC decider, was a challenging yet successful weekend for the team; an event McIntyre is already planning his return to in 2018. Competing against a collection of the sport’s biggest names over 525 gruelling, muddy kilometres, McIntyre recorded a spectacular pro buggy class win subsequent to a 13th outright finish. The result catapulted McIntyre and Harvey into a strong class win and second outright at the Bagshot short course, the perfect conclusion to their impressive introductory season.

The car has had a full going over in the off season, including a new set of Mickey Thompson MTZ’s; the extra traction will be a welcoming addition for the loose Griffith terrain. McIntyre has expressed his desire to compete at the famed Tatts Finke Desert Race, Rainbow Enduro and a few of the local events throughout 2018.

McIntyre and crew are generously supported by G.A & P.E McIntyre Builders, G.R & E.R Harvey wholesale fruit merchants and Brads Produce, growers of the best Zucchini flowers in the country. The team are seeking some further assistance in the aid of sponsorship prior to a busy season ahead, if you would like to jump on board, McIntyre and crew would be more than happy to send out a proposal.

Based on McIntyre’s terrific numbers from 2017 and a full off season under his belt, the team are expected to hit the red dirt of Stackpoole running this weekend eager to kick-start their season with a solid result. See you at the track!
